I have been an artist my whole life. I studied art at High School of Art and Design in New York City, then went on to get a BFA in Art and Literature from Queens College located in Queens, NY. I have created a wide variety of work, including paintings, murals, botanical illustration, cartoons, logos, and children’s book art.
I have a published book that I co-wrote and illustrated, “Identifying and Harvesting Edible and Medicinal Plants in Wild (and Not So Wild Places), Harper Collins. At the time I was living in NYC and leading wild plant foraging walks, as well as teaching classes on using wild plants for food and medicine. I feel that these experiences has increased my respect and empathy for the plant world, and this is reflected in my present work.
For the last 7 years I have worked teaching art at Spinoff Studio, a Center for adults with varying abilities. I love exploring new ideas and creativity with the artist there. I also do workshops in my home and occasionally other settings on print making, wood burning, painting techniques, and fabric art and more.
During this period I have been commissioned to do two large outdoor murals in Brunswick Maine. One was through the Brunswick Public Art Commission and the other through a popular local health food store. I have done a few smaller ones previously in peoples homes.
I also have my own business as an owner of a company called “Wisdom from the Woods”, this is a line of greeting cards from original wood burned art.
